Beige Color

The acronym beige is used for a variety of colours, from light yellow-brown to light brownish-grey.

The different descriptions of beige are a bright golden sand,[1] a greyish tan,[2] a bright grey tan or a bright to grey amber. Its name comes from French, where the term originated from nature fleece, which was neither blanched nor coloured, and thus also from the colour of nature fleece.

From the 1920' the importance of beige increased, so that today it is not only used for bright yellow-brown colours, but also for a broad palette of bright browns and tanks. It is well known that beige is hard to make in conventional inkjet production because only a few colours are used on each sheet; it is often printed in lilac or greens and varies within a single run.

Bosmic latte is a name attributed in 2002 to the mean color of the cosmos (derived from a sample of 200,000 electro-magnetic galaxies) given by a Johns Hopkins University astronomer group. Creme is the colour of the crème obtained from bovine animals that graze on pastures naturally, with crops abundant in green pigment carotenoids, some of which are built into the crème to give whites amber.

Name of this color in Japanese is shaironeri. The colour of Buff is the colour of delicate, natural leather. The American Telephone & Telegraph Company (AT&T) sold desk and residential phones in the 1960'. They described the color, however, as "beige". Therefore it is usual for many humans to call the color Wüstensand "beige".
