A Template is a file that helps you create interesting, engaging, and professional-looking documentation, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, and more. Presenting a draft is merely a point of departure. Create it once and use it over and over again. You have already completed your work; you insert the desired elements into the original and store them as a file, presenter, or briefcase.

In order to create a style sheet, you can begin with a paper, slide, or briefcase that you have already produced, that you have already download, or a new one that you want to modify in various ways. Select the Word file you want to store as a preset. From the File pull-down list, click Store as template.

Enter the name you want to use for the new style sheet in the Save As field. In the Where field, select a place to save the original. In the File Format pane, click Microsoft Word template (.dotx), or, if your documents contain macro files, click Microsoft Word macro-enabled template and then click (.dotm).

Press Store. If you do not choose another storage place, the pattern will be stored in /Users/username/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9. On the Word Settings menu, click Settings, and then click File Trays under Personal settings to modify where Word stores your documents for you. In File Stores, choose User Styles from the drop-down lists, and then click Modify.

Enter the new directory and pathname you want to use, and Word will store any new styles in that directory. To make an already created pattern even more useful, you can modify it. Apply statical information to the available pattern and resave the filename (as a pattern). Click New from Item on the File Menu.

Select a style sheet that is similar to the one you want to create, and then click Create. Hint: If you cannot find a style sheet, you can browse it using a keyword in the Find All Templates field. Apply, remove, or modify text, images, or formats, and make any other changes you want to appear in any new document you create using the original.

Beside Files Format, click Excel Submit (.xltx), or, if your Excel sheet contains macro files, click Excel Macro-enabled Submit (.xltm). Press Store. If you do not choose another storage place, the pattern will be stored in /Users/username/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9. To make an already created pattern even more useful, you can modify it. Apply statical information to the available pattern and resave the filename (as a pattern).
