Summer time (summer time) in most United States begins on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. U.S. dependent companies do not use daylight savings time (summer time). The United States first recorded summer time in 1918. The United States has been observing summer time for 101 years between 1918 and 2018 (summer time in at least one place).

After the 1973 oleembargo, the US Congress in 1974 prolonged summer time to 10 and 1975 to 8 month to conserve power. Between 1987 and 2006, the state monitored summer time for about 7 month per year.
