Envato Market Themeforest

We will show you in this tutorial how simple it can be to add a new WordPress topic that you bought from ThemeForest. We will also highlight some of the most frequent bugs that occur during the first installation of a topic. Well, snap up a topic and let's get to it!

WordPress.com does not allow you to up-load your own designs (you are busy with what is available for free or on the marketplace), so to use one of the fantastic designs on Themeforest you will need a self-hosted WordPress install. Managed WordPress hostings from WP Engine, where WordPress is already preinstalled and preconfigured for you (and they administer your server-side preferences for you). When you have bought your design from Themeforest, you must have downloaded the design files before you can use them. Just login to your affiliate accounts, go to your free software updates and search for your design.

Please click on the downlaod-icon and choose the "Only installable WordPress file". As a result, the zipped design for your design will be downloaded. Ensure that you choose the only installable WordPress format setting. In case you accidentally choose "All Documents & Files", you will not be able to continue installing this zipped version.

Unpack the executable instead and then find the installed themes in it. It is possible that you have your computer equipment in place to unpack your data when downloading. It is not possible to create a normal WordPress directory. In this case, please be sure to right-click and "compress" your design before proceeding to the next stage and installation.

Login to your WordPress install and make sure WordPress is up to date before doing anything else. OK - this may not affect the way you install your WordPress topic, but it is a critical safety first. They want to keep WordPress always, always, always, always up to date. If you are sure you are using the latest WordPress release, go to Appearance > Topics and click the Append New icon at the top of the screen.

Click on the "Upload topic" icon. Press the "Browse..." key and choose the zipped archive you previously used. Now click on "Install Now" and let WordPress unfold its magical power for a second. As soon as the topic data is fully loaded, simply click on the "Activate" icon. If, after you click "Install Now", you see an " The installer could not successfully finish installing the package" message.

There is no styles in the topic. If "? then you probably did not followed our directions from stage 1. Probably you download the "All Documents & Documentation" instead of the installed topic. Back up and verify again that you have loaded the right one. Once you have searched for your topic and clicked the "Install Now" icon, it is possible that your WordPress installer asks the question: "Are you sure you want to do this?

" The reason may be that you are trying to download the incorrect zipped files (remember - you just want the "Installable WordPress File") or it is possible that the download restriction on your servers is not big enough. This is an example of an FTP based int. files command that increases the value of filesize upload_max_filesize. When you try to reinstall your design and end up on a blank dying display (you know, the WordPress copy of the Windows Bluetooth Display of Death), you probably need to make an adjustment to your servers.

Raise your own storage limits via FTP by putting the following at the end of your wp-config files (just before "That's all, stop editing!"): define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT','256M'); for a more detailled description, you can see our own document entitled total topic trouble shooting, which will guide you through the work.

But if you are working with a WordPress hosted application you should never encounter this issue. You can do this if you want to use FTP/SFTP to install your design. First of all you need to set up an FTP (File Transfers Protocol) application - we like Transmit or FileZilla (this second one is free - woot!).

As soon as you have finished installing it, open your application to establish a connection to your webhost. FTP/SFTP requires you to extract the files you just download from Themeforest (it should look like an open directory icon). Subsequently load the exported themes files. Login to your WordPress install and browse to Appearance > Themes and click to enable your design.

If you install via FTP, it is very important that you only load the themes files onto your FTP client. It will not work this way if the files are zip! Make sure you have thought about unpacking your files. Make sure you have uploaded the right directory for the topic. Maybe you mistakenly uploaded the topic plus documents and everything else.

Once your topic has been installed and activated, you can easily download and use the Envato Market plug-in. In order to start first, please load the Plugin-Zip files from your WordPress installer and go to Plugins > New. Then click on the "Upload plugin" icon at the top of your computer window, search for the envato-market zipped version and click on "Install now". "If you are asked to do so, click on the "Activate Plugin" hyperlink.

As soon as the plug-in is up and running, you need to synchronize it with your Envato accounts to get direct acces to all your WordPress and plug-in buys from your desktop. Click on the Generate A Personal Token button on the Envato Market plug-in page with your WordPress dashboard.

That will take you to the envelopeAPI page where you can create an authorisationoken. In order to create your own custom Envato logo, just login to your Envato email address (unless you are already signed in), tick the checkbox you have checked and accepted the conditions (but don't deselect any of the choices - the Envato Market plug-in needs this information to work properly), and click the orange "Create logo" icon.

Simply copy your password and go back to your WordPress dashboard. Insert the passcode into the Envato Market Plug-in page tab and store your changes. When you see an issue that says "You don't have enough privileges to remove transients," don't be worried - just click the back key on your web browsers and try to add your own transient again.

Simply click the big green icon to get your design installed and that's it. Envato Market also shows if an updated version with a flag above the article is available. In order for the Envato Market plug-in to work, a Tokens MUST be generated for the envelopeAPI. You do not have a bill of sale number, subject licence or any other codes from your Themeforest dashboard.

We have three very different but also very simple ways to set up your Themeforest WordPress themes, so now you should have your themes set up and up. Obviously, you can take the trouble to adjust your design with the built-in customizer choices, built-in Page builder plug-ins, or even customized style sheets, but this is a completely different kind of blogsite.
