SiteOrigin Page Builder: An in-depth comparison
Are you trying to choose between Elementor and SiteOrigin Page Builder to create your WordPress page? According to the number of installations these are the two most favorite page creators at WordPress.org. Also, because selecting a page creator for your website is a long-term choice, you want to make sure you have the right tools before you begin creating your website.
In order to make your choice easier, we have created a step-by-step guide between Elementor and SiteOrigin Page Builder that compares both the free and paid functions in each plug-in. We begin with a free function analysis of the individual plugins. Then we will match some of the functions you can get with the individual developers' offical premier add-ons.
Elementor and SiteOrigin Page Builder both provide free kernel versions* that you can upgrade with an optional additional feature for more features. This section compares the key features of each plug-in and how you can use them to design your own. We' ll be adding the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle and the SiteOrigin Css extensions as they are free and from the same developers.
Here is a short overview of the free plugins. This section gives you a fundamental insight into how the user interfaces of each Page Builder work. Initially, this is only a high-level look - in the last few paragraphs we will go into more detail about certain interfaces. Elementsor is solely a frontend page creator.
This means that you will see the real end result of your drafts when you create them. You can also edit your themes with the same real-time views. This is how the port works: 1- the Widget that you can use to create your page. 2- A real-time previewer of your theme, complete with any Widget you like.
Here you will actually create your own design and it will look exactly the way it looks to your people. If you want to change any text on your page, you can simply click and enter the text in the LifePreview.
SiteOrigin Page Builder does not provide online publishing, which is referred to as "inline editing" and is therefore unparalleled for Elementor: Unlike Elementor, SiteOrigin Page Builder provides both a backend and a light frontend sourceditor. When you use the backend editors, you create your page with abstracted text that you can move by dragging and dropping as needed:
When you open the Open Sourceditor, you get a light and easy way to visualize the Sourceditor. However, this is not the same as Elementor. You still have to modify your page layout by moving the abstracted fields on the leftside by drag-and-drop. However, you will see a real-time thumbnail of how this abstracted theme will look on the right.
SiteOrigin Page Builder also marks the checkbox that matches each item in the Site Map list. Or, you can click an item in the preview to modify it. However, you cannot move items in the live preview using drag and drop: 2- This is a virtual real-time view, but you cannot move items here using a drag & drop operation.
In addition to the specific Widget that we will discuss in the next section, a large part of the design of your page is the fundamental building blocks that "hold" your specific Widget. This section will show you how you can use any Page Builder to create the base page layout.
Elementsor offers you two fundamental structure items that you can work with: If, for example, you want to split your page into three different areas, you would do the following: You can use Elementsor to customize the width of your rows simply by dragging and dropping: You can also use Elementuor to add extra features for each section or every segment or every segment to do things like this:
Just like Elementor, SiteOrigin Page Builder also offers you two structure items for creating your pages: With SiteOrigin Page Builder, you can select the width of your pages from a range of preferences or select your own divisions using simple copy and paste or simply by dragging and dropping: SiteOrigin, unlike Elementor, does not offer any adjustment possibilities for single colors. You can do single lines with things like:
This section will discuss the widgets contained in each plug-in. Then in the next section we will discuss how to design these widgets. You can use all the major WordPress Widgets in your themes with Elementsor. In addition, it also includes 28 own Widget. Just like SiteOrigin Page Builder, SiteOrigin Page Builder lets you use one of the most important WordPress widgets. What's more, you can use it in a variety of ways.
In order to gain further widget rights, you can download and use the SiteOrigin Widget Bundle. Altogether 26 own Widget are added. It enables Widget for by default: In this section we will discuss how you can use each Page Builder to design the different Widget types that you use in your design.
There are three different tabbed areas in Elementsor for editing specific Widget items. Styles - allows you to choose your own colours, type and other fundamental styles. Extended - allows you to add user-defined borders/padding, zip index, backgrounds and some other extended adjustments that we will discuss in the next two paragraphs. The SiteOrigin Page Builder offers you two areas where you can customise any widget:
1- The Haupteditor gives you a set of accordion choices that govern the basic features of the Widget. The right side bar gives you extended Widget styles that allow you to customize margins/padding, a user-defined backdrop, and user-defined styles of CSS class/ID. Elementor has a greater number of config choices for most of its widgets, only in relation to the gross numbers.
Each page creator creates attractive standard layout. From the bottom right, you can quickly view a quick snapshot of your theme on different gadgets with Elementor: To take more control over how your theme looks, you can also use Elementsor to fade out certain portions, gaps, or widgets from certain types of device by clicking a button on the Extended tab:
Using the SiteOrigin Page Builder's Live Editor, you can quickly get preview information for different devices: SiteOrigin Page Builder doesn't offer you a quick switch like Elementor to determine whether or not to show single Widget on different machines. Here you could simply insert a single line or widget ''display: none;'' flag to suppress single lines or widgets appearing on portable devices:
As an occasional adopter, you may not need to use customized styles in your Page Builder design. However, for more experienced editors, the possibility to customize your site with adding your own style sheet is a great way to get more creative power over your layout. The free kernel plug-in lets you use Elementor to customize your own classes of CSS code or your own IDs:
The free SiteOrigin Page Builder is a little more versatile when it comes to added styles. As Elementor, you can create your own customized styles using your own styles, class, or ID. SiteOrigin Page Builder goes one better by allowing you to directly attribute lines or widgets using your own styles, plus the Mobile Styles options mentioned earlier:
They can get similar features for Agent, but it does require the Agent Pro add-on. Samples help you to accelerate your designing processes by providing: Elementsor contains a built-in style sheet repository that provides two different kinds of style sheets: Blocs - these are themes for certain page segments. Although Itemor has 100 page styles, only ~38 of them are available in the free one.
In the free edition there is a greater number of blocks: The SiteOrigin Page Builder contains 26 ready-made page builder pages that you can easily upload with just a few mouse clicks. Click on the page you want to use. Although the designs are subject to subjectivity, we think it's reasonable to say that most of these designs are a little simpler than Elementor's:
While SiteOrigin Page Builder does not explicitly allow you to store pages as template files, it does provide a functionality that allows you to create a simple copy of an already created page using SiteOrigin Page Builder. If you ever want to disable the Page Builder you selected, the block applies to what happens. This means - what will your contents look like if the Page Builder is no longer in the image?
If you disable just about every Page Builder, you will loose the additional style you added with the Page Builder. However, some page creators don't affect the remainder of your contents, while others can create evil artefacts. If you disable Elementor, it will return 100% pure coding. This means that if you had an Elementor headline with HTML, you will still see an HTML headline in the normal WordPress editor...it will only use the standard style of your design.
Here, for example, is the contents of one of Elementor's template files abandoned after you disabled Elementor: The SiteOrigin Page Builder provides hybrid coding based on the type of widget you are using. A few Wididgets - like the SiteOrigin Editor Widget - provide the neat source for your work. Many of the more specialised widgets do, however, have shortcuts.
This is why SiteOrigin Page Builder has a certain block when you use the extended, short code-based Widgets. You should have a fairly good understanding of the kernel capabilities of each Page Builder at this point. Now we will discuss the functions that are included in the plugins included feature-packages.
In contrast to the preceding section, we will not do this 1:1 because each edition has different key features. Elementor Pro 2. The Elementor project management department implemented a real theme-building function for the Elementor 0 project. You can use this function to create your whole Wordprocessor topic with the same Elementor surface as described above. You can, for example, use your drag-and-drop to create the designs for your design:
You can also select exactly where you want to use your customized templates: Whilst you should still opt for a motif of higher image value for other purposes, this theme-building feature allows you to create 100% of your WordPress site using Elementor's user experience, which is not possible with SiteOrigin Page Builder. Elementsor Pro gives you more than 30 new Widgets, complete with WooCommerce devoted Widget and Widget, to view WordPress mail and user-defined mail types:
In addition, you activate each individual page style and every pad, which corresponds to well over 100 ready-made layouts. Globals are a useful function when you need to re-use an exact item across several pages. When you want to modify the globale Widget in the near term, any changes you make will be applied to every page on which you have used this one: the changes will be applied automatically:
Elementor Pro's Embedded Anywhere function gives you another way to use the Elementor user experience outside of your regular subject area, in additional to Elementor Pro's topic creation capabilities. Using Embedded anywhere you can use any of your stored Elementor styles and use shortcuts or Widgets to add them to your:
You can, for example, create a Call-to-Action area from the Elementor user-interface and embed it in the page bar of your website: Elementor Pro lets you directly apply your style sheet directly to a section, column, or widget (not just a style sheet or ID as in the free version): However, please note that SiteOrigin Page Builder provides this feature free of charge.
The SiteOrigin Premium is a feature-rich suite of add-ons that you can activate and deactivate as needed. SiteOrigins Customizing Mail Type Builder is probably the most powerful add-on. You can use the Customizing Type Builder to do this: Although you can do something similar with Elementor Pro's themme builder, the way SiteOrigin Page Builder and Elementor Pro handle user-defined mail is different:
You can use Elemenor to create the templates for user-defined mail items that you have already made. Automatically feeds your submission the user-defined mailstream information that you input into the WordPress Editor and/or user-defined boxes. With SiteOrigin Premium, you can input your customized mail personality information into the re-usable page format generated by SiteOrigin Page Builder.
The most other SiteOrigin Premium supplements concern: Plus, the custom Widget that get new preferences and style are: There are three different price types for your product. You can also get a 30-day refund on your purchase from us. The SiteOrigin Premium also has three different price schedules. SiteOrigin Premium also provides a 60-day money-back warranty, and the only major differences are in the number of websites it supports.
While SiteOrigin Premium uses automated extensions and does not provide a renew rebate, you can unsubscribe at any moment. SiteOrigin: What to select? Elementsor offers: of SiteOrigin: Backend edit as well as a light weight editor, although the main one is not a real one. Well, you - have you used these two Page Builder?
