In order to get a domains and web services, see: When you have the option to create WordPress yourself (or find the document yourself on-line, e.g. Tutorial.) When you have a self-hosted WordPress page already in use, the installation and configuration of some extra plug-ins becomes even simpler. Known to most web surfers, these are by no means the only ways to do these things, but below are the most general and relatively standard suggestions for novices or even very experienced surfers who want to get going very quickly.

Because of this we assume that you have already created a hostname with WordPress on it. If you need help, a good starting point is to download WordPress from WordPress.org. User are also invited to try other attacking techniques, some of which are listed on Advanced WordPress Setup, on other WordPress related pages, or on theme pages throughout the entire webpage.

Most if not all of the above plug-ins are open source and can be found on Github if you want to add source files or help with coding or writing documents, reporting errors or making proposals. Since WordPress is such a rugged and evolved web based CMS with a long track record, it offers many of the layers of IndieMark ready to use.

Whilst one does not need to know much, if anything, about Microsoft WordPress formats, it is enough to say that they are relatively important and that they are mainly covered by the WordPress topic. Since there are currently not many WordPress topics that correctly deploy Microsoft WordPress formats, we strongly suggest using either Sempress or Independent Publisher, which do an outstanding job to integrate Microsoft WordPress 2 versions.

Most of these plug-ins are described below. Some can be described under WordPress/Plugins or on their own pages. Some of the first things you want to setup are rel-me link to your other webmasters. It allows Web-Sign-in and IndieAuth to use your domains as your identities.

Then you can register in this page and start your work. Fill it with the user names for your identity on the various service (s) you use (phone, Github user name, Google+ user ID (not user name), Twitter user name (without @), Facebook ID, Last. fm user name, Instagram user name, Flickr user name) and the plug-in will generate the correct (invisible) rel-me link in the header of your website.

At the bottom of the Edit Users page, there is a box where you can add extra addresses to add rel-me. Link pages rel-me and WordPress with Bridgy#Rel-me can supply further information if required. When you want the link to be displayed on your website, you can use the rel-me tool that replaces the link with an icon.

Since your site has rel-me hyperlinks that point to your presence on multiple service pages, sign in to these service pages and paste the website address of your site into the appropriate site boxes in your site section so that they in turn point to your site. Adding rel-me hyperlinks to your websites will help you display your property.

If you have a second private website, some service such as Twitter and Instagram, which only allow one single address in your profiles, will allow you to insert a second address in your biofield. WordPress.com restricts the plug-ins you can use, so you must use the WordPress menus and widgets. You should now be able to login to this page with your domainname as an extra test.

You can use it as an IndieAuth end-point for third-party Web pages so that you can use your WordPress login information to verify with other Web pages or allow them to login on your behalf (for example, to post clients). Or, it may support web sign-in (through your domain) to your website through a third-party website. A text field in the administration interface of this plug-in allows you to add the POSSE permission links of your own contents to it.

Option in the plug-in allows you to select between text and either a colour or a monochrome symbol for the view. There is also coding to import/save these permission links auto-import and auto-save from other POSSE plug-ins, which includes SNAP and Tumblr CrossPoster as well as WordPress CrossPoster, Diaposter (for Diaspora), Medium and Mastadon AutoPoster supports.

Integration with other POSSE plug-ins is possible on demand. To those who are accustomed to using WordPress tablebacks or tracking, the web mentions are very similar, but safer, more rugged and, above all, much better presented. In order to activate this feature, the plugin allows you to add WordPress features to your WordPress application to allow you to add text to your WordPress application.

In order to use it, you must have both the installation and activation of the Plugin Netmention (for the essential Netmention functionality) and the Plugin Semantic Linkbacks (which takes care of the correct formatting of the netmentions in your comment area). None of the two plug-ins require a true setup, since the default settings are used by most.

Although the integration plug-in will respect the discussion preferences for notification of other blog posts when they are listed, it also has its own preferences page that can be customized. When it comes to homepage web menus, some folks choose not to display them as commentaries, but on a seperate mention page. Now, when folks submit a Web Mention to your home page, they are gathered on the page provided for that purpose.

The best way to do this is with the WebSub (fka PubSubHubbub) (PuSH) contribution assistance and can be achieved by installation and activation of the PubSubHubbub plug-in. To this end, you want to be able to obtain submissions and view commentaries on each contribution types you published. Using the above described Webmention-Plugin you can send and received your own custom content, so this is already done.

In order to be able to better view these preserved Web mentions, one would like to have the following plug-in installed and activated: One of the simplest ways to deploy a WordPress feedback is to add webmentioning ( activated above ) and correctly configure rel-me link ( see above ) and connect your website to it. He then searches the silo copy, finds the originals, and then sends a webmention so that they appear as a comment.

In WordPress with Bridgy, you will find separate details on how to do this. Of course, there are alternative ways to add some of the functionality described above using alternative algorithms or plug-ins.

In addition, many pages in the Whitepaper contain samples of features, UI/UX, and even brain-storming suggestions that further enhance the value and performance of the standalone web. Make sure you have both the Semantic Linkbacks plug-in and the Webmention plug-in on. Check out the outreach club or ask your questions in the IRC canal.

When you think you have found a problem, you are welcome to put a problem in the glossary for the particular plug-in you have a problem with. The WordPress Glossary page has definition of fundamental WordPress and web related terminology, many of which are also discussed in the WordPress Glossary page.
