Gravatare are avatars recognised worldwide. Tom Werner's Gravatare allows one individual to have an Avatar throughout the web. Usually avatars are a picture sized x80x x80px that the end-customer creates. Gravatar is basically the same, but they are all housed on a central host and are invoked by encoding the user's e-mail addresses using the MD5 encryption algorithms.

So, instead of having one in a forum you are visiting and another in a blogs you are visiting, you can have the same Avatar in both. Gravatar is a dynamical picture source required by a web-host. Next part is a hash copy of the user's e-mail adress.

You MUST write the e-mail adress in lower case first, then remove the whole white space before using mb5. Optionally, a value of [ G | PG | R | R | X ] can be followed by a value of [ G | PG | R | R | X ], which defines the highest value (inclusive) that is given back. There may be an option for a dimension value (or s) that indicates the width and elevation of the gravatar.

Every value other than 80 causes the initial gravatar picture to be rescanned with bi-cubic rescanning before printing. Optionally, a standard argument (or d) can be followed that indicates the full length given by the full length given by the GIF, JPEG, or PNG images to be retrieved if either the e-mail addresses does not have an associated Gravatar or if Gravatar has a higher score than permitted by the evaluation argument.

5, gravity data storage devices are built-in and do not need any extra plugins for essential use and administration. Topic writers have the opportunity to incorporate engravatars into their drafts and it is advised to do so. If avatars (aka, gravatars) are shown or not. What avatar ratings are shown. Get_avatar is the name of the feature that adds gravity to your topic.

Displays a full screen HTML of the avatar. User ID of the originator (an integral number or character string), an e-mail address (a character string), or the comments item from the comments loops.

Hint: For most comments you can use $comment to show the gravatar of the commentator. Average number of avatars displayed (max. 512). Standard (optional): This is the position of the standard avatar to be used (used if the individual has not assigned an e-mail address). When this is omitted, the gravatar you see here will be used as the standard one.

Normally the standard font is 96x96 if you don't use the font parameter to do this. Avatars are only displayed if the avatars are allowed by the WP Admin Panel users (enabled by default). Standard display when using the above feature is shown below. If the Gravatar returns to the standard picture for want of an e-mail-adress ( e.g. pitchback or trackback), regardless of whether you have specified a standard or not, the Impg elements also get a class from avatar-default.

"; If you are requesting a Gravatar picture and the e-mail you requested does not have an Gravatar system e-mail address, it will return a standard picture.

Sometimes this may not be what you want, but instead you may want to know if you are getting a true gravatar back or if it is just the standard. For example, you want to alert a user that they don't have a gravatar, that they should log in for one, but you don't want to disturb a user who is already logged in.

Here the ploy is to specify "404" as the standard. If this is the case, the Gravator utility will revert to a 404 failure if no Gravatar is present instead of reverting to a standard one. An actual picture gets a 200 binary cipher. This is a basic example of a validating feature with HTTP header.

d=404'; $headers = @get_headers($uri); $has_valid_avatar = FLALSE; $has_valid_avatar = TRUE; Return $has_valid_avatar; A more comprehensive validator using the HTTP API and Object Cache can be found here.
