How to Create a Template for WordpressCreating a template for Wordpress
Rather than using a fixed page to view the portfolios, you can use a template to control the viewing of all contributions created in the portfolios catagory. Create template folders for all your website's folders by easily generating template folders with file names that match the slot theme and then upload these folders via SFTP to your WordPress theme folder.
Here is the rationale behind the creation of catagory templates: Template with the folder name catagory. php is a catch-all for displaying folders. To specify a template for a single folder, include a hyphen and the Category slow at the end of the name. When you don't have a category.php or category-slug.php template, the main index (index.php) template defines the categorization view.
There are three example requests for renaming templates for categories. The WordPress application allows you to embed very specialized kinds of contents on your website by using the WP_Query command. When you embed WP_Query before the loop, you can specify in WordPress which categories you want to get information from.
When you have a WordPress folder and want to see the last three items from that folder - on your home page, in your side bar, or anywhere else on your page - you can use this template tags. WP_Query will accept multiple parameter that allow you to view different kinds of contents, such as articles in certain catagories and contents from certain pages/posts or data in your blogsheets.
To view only three items, type in items_pro_page=3. Category_name=slug: WordPress uses this setting to tell WordPress that you want to drag contributions from the tag with a particular slot. To view articles from the WordPress class, type category_name=wordpress. Perform these procedures to use WP_Query to filter contributions by category:
Select the template in which you want to view the contents. For example, if you want to view contents in a side bar, select the template Sidebar: sidebar.php. Find the end character at the bottom of the template for the topic you are using. Changes you have just made are stored in the side bar. php template.
Previously, in WordPress, you used the query_posts(); tag to drag contents from a particular categories, but the WP_Query is more efficient.
