How to Download and Install Wordpress

Downloading and installing Wordpress

Installing WordPress by hand Here I will describe how to download and install WordPress in cPanel for your domains by hand. This is for you if you are a novice and are not quite sure how to install WordPress by hand. You will also be taught how to build a MySQL data base and how to upload the WordPress installers to your web server using an FTP server.

WorldPress is known for being fast and simple to install and takes only five moments. This is only valid for the so-called one-click installs via the cPanel of your webhosts. You can also perform a WordPress install manually in 5-10 mins, but it's better to take your pick, especially if it's your first one.

In order to start, we go to Wordpress. org/download and download the latest release of WordPress. On the right side you will find the small icon to download the archiv: ZIP-Archive: Now click on the icon to download the data set. contains all WordPress kernel WordPress executables that you can use to build a new WordPress Web site.

Creates a new directory for the WordPress kernel file and unpacks the file into the new directory. You can see that all the softwares consist of three directories and a number of different data within the master directory. To install WordPress on your web server, you need the control panel (or cPanel) of your webhosts.

They will use it to build a data base that is necessary for WordPress. In order to build a databank, refer to the section on administering databanks in the cPanel of your host service providers. However, your web host could also have a seperate, easy way to build a MySQL wizard or similar for you.

This is how it looks in my CP: In this case I would go to MySQL databases. Afterwards I have the option to build a new MySQL data base on the opening page: Just enter a meaningful name for your data base, e.g. "mywordpressdatabase". Build a new data base yourself.

In addition, specify a user name and keyword for your data base. This allows you to recreate, change, and refresh spreadsheets in the data base. At the moment the data base has no spreadsheets. However, don't be afraid, WordPress fills the spreadsheets automaticly during setup. Next, you need to associate the new WordPress install with the one you just added in the preceding stage.

Meanwhile, your web hoster will setup and configurate your data bank - this can take a few time. Locate the WordPress zipped document you just download and unpacked. Search for a filename named won-config-sample.php. Contains the basic setup for your WordPress manually installed, as well as the setup for your new MySQL data bank.

It is located in the parent directory of the unpacked record of directories and files: Re-name the wp-config-sample.php archive to just filename your filename for wp-config-only. You can open the wp-config. php with your text editors, such as Atom, Brackets, Sublime Text or Notepad++. Next, you need to modify the following MySQL data for your MySQL data base in the file:

All of this can be found in your data base summary in the Pontrol Panel of your webhosts. You must now actually download the file to your web host's servers. As soon as you have established and executed your FTP link, it is your turn to download the WordPress installers to your web host's servers.

This way you can begin the install procedure at last. First, locate the WordPress installers on your computer in the list on the right. Browse to the directory where you placed your wp-config. php and all other archived data in the original downloads.

Next, on the right side of your FTP clients, you will find the directory on your web server that you want to use for your WordPress install. Often there is a directory named public_html or www. This is the home directory to which you want to move your WordPress installers.

When you are not sure which directory to use, please consult your host directly. Then on the leftside of your FTP clients, choose all the Wordpress directory file types. Continue by right-clicking on the file and selecting Upload or using the Upload icon in the FTP Clients Navigator Area.

A while elapses before the data is transferred. Then you can go to the real install! All you have to do now is run the installer! First you will see the first page of the install procedure where you need to select the preferred WordPress install language:

I' d suggest that you check this check if you' re just starting to develop your new WordPress site. At any time, you can clear the checkbox later in your WordPress administration area once your site is open to the world. Eventually, simply click the Install WordPress icon. Now you can log into your WordPress Administrator dashboard using the logon information you provided during the install process:

Here it is: a nice, new WordPress administration section dashboard! The next thing to make sure your WordPress website is correctly configured for your use in the near term is to follow my guidelines for configuring your WordPress website after it has been installed. How did the installer work for you?
