Make changes in styles - Square help
Changes to styles are changes to the appearance of your website, such as font styles, colours, background and spaces. Change styles in the style editor and display them in the thumbnail. Every template's styles editor has several different settings known as " optimizations ". "This tutorial discusses how to use the Styles Editor to perfection the look and feel of your website and explain optimizations found in all of our stylesheets.
It is recommended to experiment with the Styles Editor while creating your website. Test the optimizations of your artwork to get an insight into what's possible in your artwork and achieve a look you'll like. Then click Theme, and then click Styles Editor. Opens the Styles Editor with a set of customizable styles.
Optimizations are divided into general, page header, and main contents segments. Changes that only apply to your templates are usually found under Options. Hint: Page manipulation is deactivated when the Style Editor is open. In order to append or delete contents, quit the Style Editor and open the Page window. Previewing a page style at the bottom of the Style Editor displays a section with optimizations tailored to the page style.
In order to display these optimizations, first open the page and then browse to the Styles Editor. All changes to these optimizations affect all pages of this kind on your website. If, for example, you have several product pages and make stylistic changes specifically for the product page, the same changes affect all product pages.
Certain elements of the library, such as blogs or newsletters, also have article-specific styles editor optimizations. In order to make changes, open the Styles Editor while looking at a single line element. Hint: If a cover page is opened in the styles editor, only the changes to the cover page are displayed. If you are in the Styles Editor, click a section of a page to see the available styles for that section and click to clear the remainder.
You see the Styles Highlights field around the item you click. If you want to modify the look of your navigational menus, for example, click on a navigational hyperlink in the thumbnail. Styles that controls the navigational menus are displayed in the Styles Editor, as shown in the following example. This hides the other styles optimizations.
Go back to all selections by selecting Show All. Notice: A complete listing of the optimizations of your templates can be found in our "Style Editor Optimizations" section. Some optimizations allow you to click and dragging inside the previews to customize the settings: Whilst every style editor has tens of optimizations, there are some shared tendencies between them.
Use the typography or font optimizations to modify font types and sizing. In order to modify the colours, choose any setting with a colour wheel next to the name. A lot of changes in styles are related to height, such as upholstery, distance, width and frame. You can find these optimizations under the category Größen & Werte. In order to make this stylistic alteration, move the mouse pointer over a resizing.
If you select an image proportion to be optimized, the picture will be trimmed to that size (e.g. 1:1 square), usually around the focus point. These can be displayed in a different order than how they were submitted. A number of styles contain a site-wide or page-related wallpaper that was added using the Style Editor. In order to insert a wallpaper, click on the option Optimize wallpaper or on the corresponding symbol in the Style Editor.
So you can either post your own picture or get one from Getty Images for $10. For more information, see How to Insert a Wallpaper. A few template files contain a site-wide picture that you can insert from the Style Editor. You can click on the pinch button on the picture, pinch the header or the corresponding symbol in the Style Editor.
Open the page preferences for Pictures per page, click the Medias page, and then load a picture. For more information, see Add a picture of a business card. When your style sheet contains a side bar, you can modify its look in the Style Editor. You can move the side bar to the right or right in some styles, for example.
In order to find the optimized styles of theidebar, click on the side bar in the page previews or search for the headline side bar in the styles editor. Here is an example of how side bar optimizations can look after your template: The optimizations are usually checked in the Options section. There are two ways to reverse a stylistic change:
At the top of the window, click the Unwind button. The last changes you made to the styles are canceled. Alternatively, you can click the redeo symbol to repeat a modification. In this way, you can abort a particular stylistic variation in any order. Hint: If you make a changes to a theme and then reverse it, no Save button appears at the top of the window.
Save will only appear if you modify and maintain an optimization operation. Please note: This amendment is irreversible. You can return to the standard templates but you cannot recover earlier changes. In order to begin from scratch, you can return your website design to the standard settings of the original. Browse down in the style editor and click Modify Brands to Set Back Standard.
Once you have saved the Style Editor, your style sheet will be returned to the standard formats. Hint: After you have saved the Style Editor, you cannot undo this modification. Style Editor manages the style of your website without user-defined coding. But if you know how to use and can' t find a modification you need in the Style Editor, you can apply it in the Style Editor.
Customizing your website's content can affect its usability, and all your customized content does not fall within the Squarespace area.
