Creating designs with CSS variables is easy

Creating themes is one of the best ways to use CSS variables. The CSS variables allow you to do this more easily and flexibly than before. I have also done a screenscast about creating themes in my free 8-part course CSS Variables. From a technical point of view, we will do this by appending a form to the particular element we want to use.

I' m not going to talk about HTML for the website, because it's quite simple, and I assume that you know HTML. Here is our style sheet before we began using CSS variables: Background: Coffee; color: F6f69; color: F6f69; color: F6f69; Background: Fcc5c; Background: f6f69; Color: So this is a great use case for CSS variables.

In order to begin using, we must first define our variable. F6f69; --beige: Then we just exchange our hexadecimal readings with the variables: Background: var(--beige); Color: var(--red); Color: var(--red); Color: var(--red); Color: var(--red); Color: var(--red); Background: var(--yellow); Background: var(--red); Color: var(--yellow); Now we have the powers of variable in our CSS, which means that we can just --red it into something else, and it will be refreshed throughout our website.

Or if you have trouble understanding what is going on here, please read my Learn CSS Variables in 5 minute articles, or sign up for the course. Let us now compile the topic. One of our four elements should have the possibility to include a feature classes in one of our four elements and thus distinguish this element from the others.

Specifically, we will change our colors and colors from green to #ff5564 and yellow#ffe55b. Previously, the way we had to do this was to create a user-defined CSS selection for each of the elements within the tagged elements, like here: Background: #ffe55b; color: F5564; Background: cf5564; color: CSS variable makes it much simpler. We just overwrite the variable within the marked clas . as follows:

#ff5564; Since CSS tags are passed on, all items within... that point to --red or non-red now use the locale value, not the locale value. Thus the items or utilize automatic the locale value for the variable. Imagine what that would be like if we were to build a more sophisticated part, such as a retail application part.

It is much simpler and more versatile to just reverse the value of some variable instead of making user-defined sorters for each of the offspring. To learn more about this technique, please visit my free 8-part CSS Variable Interactivity course on Scrimba.
