HTML - What is HTML? This is the HTML used to describe the web page structures. The HTML gives the author the possibility to: Publishing on-line documentation with titles, texts, spreadsheets, listings, photos, and more. Access on-line information via hyperlinks at the touch of a mouse. Insert spreadsheets, videoclips, audio files, and other apps directly into your work.
HTML is used by writers to describe the way pages are structured using mark-up. Speech items identify contents items such as "paragraph", "list", "table", "table" and so on. XMLHTML is a variation of HTML that uses the Extensible Mark-up Language (XML). YHTML all has the same element (for paras, etc.) as the HTML version, but the syntax is slightly different.
Since XHTML is an XHTML component, it allows you to use other XHTML utilities (such as XMLSLT, a transformation tool for translating XHTML content). This is the CSS used to describe the representation of web pages, which includes colours, layouts and font styles. The CSS is HTML-free and can be used with any XML-based mark-up family.
Separating HTML and CSS makes it easy to manage websites, sharing stylesheets across pages, and adapting pages to different settings. It is called the division of text (or content) and representation. The WebFonts is a font management system that allows users to use typefaces on the web as needed, without having to install them in the OS.
Up until recently, downloading typefaces were not commonly used on the web because there was no such thing as an inter-operable typeface. Below is a very basic example of how to make a HTML part of an HTML page to make a hyperlink within a section. You could, for example, use CSS to type the text of all sections with a category of "moreinfo" in italics:
You can use the HTML document styles of any number of HTML pages by putting this policy in a seperate document. You can find more information about HTML and CSS in the HTML and CSS tutorials.
