There are thousands of free designs in WordPress that you can use to customize the look and feel of your website. In order to install your design, you should first have WordPress installed on your hosting provider.

Has your web brower dowloaded a directory instead of a zipped one? However, some web-browsers, such as Safari, extracts zipped images after downloading them to your computer. In order to be able to download the topic as a zipped document, right-click on the downloading links and choose "Download Linked Datei As". Topic: Contains only the theme/template. For each of them, the install procedure is exactly the same. So the only thing different is the filename you install. Find the download zipped and click Upload & Install to start the installer. Just choose all non-activated extension files shown in the picture above and click the Enter icon in the top-right corner of the Extension Manager.

A simple way to find this area is to browse to the plugins in the side bar and click the Add New icon next to the page name. You will see this icon at the same location where the Install Now icon was before. In order to do this, you must have the Admin plug-in preinstalled and Grav-enabled.

Admin > Plugins and choose the Add icon in the top right corner of the page. You will be asked if you want to abort or resume the install. Simply choose Proceed with Install. A second possibility to install theme packs (zipped) is in the Tools section.

Here you can install a ziped packet with the Install a Packed by Zipping feature by up-loading it. If you have a distant (direct) link to the archive, you can type it into the Install a zip packet from a distant location box and choose Install. As soon as you have done this, it should become automatic and available.

A part of what makes Grav so attractive to programmers is its mighty toolset of commands. One of these is the Grav GPM plumber, which allows you to install plug-ins with a simple click. As a result, the installer starts the installer. At the top you can see a GPM Setup program movie in use.

Please install the extension under extensions  ? Expansions Manager ? Install. Click the Choose File icon, browse for the download file and click Upload & Install to start the install. In order to install the design on WordPress, just browse to Admin Appearance in the side bar and click the Add New icon at the top of the Themes page.

It will take you to the Add Topics page with another pushbutton at the top named Upload Theme. Click the Browse... buttons to choose the zipped archive for the topic you want to install and choose Install Now. You should now have the theme on. It can be activated via the link provided for this purpose.

There are two ways (administration panel and command line) depending on which topic is in the Grav's themed repository. Usually these topics are free, open sources and available on the Grav-Website. In the interest of this guidebook, we will use helium as the theme of our choosing. First and simplest way is to install the theme from the Grav control panel.

In order to do this, you must have the Admin plug-in preinstalled and Grav-enabled. Admin > Topics and select the Add icon in the top right corner of the page. Here you can either browse and find the topic or use the Filter box to find it.

As soon as you have found the helium theme, just choose the Install icon and start the installer. You will be asked if you want to abort or resume the install. Choose Just proceed with the install. When you don't want to use Grav Admin and have direct control over your server's filesystem, you can install a theme just by download the zipped archive and extract it to your user/ theme/folder.

It should make a new folder for the theme (e.g. user/themes/g5_helium) containing all related theme file. Any topic in the Grav topic list can be installed with the Grav CLI GPM. In this way you can type a unique instruction in your commandline/terminal and have it installed for you.

To use this function, all you need to do is open or open a request on your web site, browse to the trunk of your Grav web site, and type the bin/gpm install line install thelium. As a result, the installer starts the installer. At the top you can see a movie of the installed program in operation.

As soon as you have started and validated the install, the helium theme should be available to you. Enable your design during install by choosing Enable from the links at the bottom of the install page. It is also possible to enable a theme by going to Admin Appearance and choosing Enable in the appropriate theme boxes.

It' simple to set a topic in Grav as inactive. First and most common is to use the gravity management panel to convert the current theme to helium. The Grav control window must be up and running. When this is done, just go to Administration > Topics and choose Activate for the topic you want to activate.

Activate turns blau and the text changes to Current topic, which indicates that the topic is now current. It is also possible to enable a design by modifying the YAML web site config files. These are the rows you need to concentrate on in this editing: Pages: Topic:

The only thing you have to do is modify the design to the one you want to use. We will use g5_helium in this case, as this is the name of the folder in user/themes for the helium theme. pages: theme: The new design should now be in use.
