A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site to identify an Internet Protocol (IP) location (192.168.x.x.x) with words (*.com) to help remember them more readily, such as a phone book for Web sites. As a rule, this is offered by your Internet Protocol (ISP). If you can connect to a website in the comfort of your own home or from a 3G LAN, but don't work on your computer, it's a good thing to use a DNS server other than your own Internet Protocol (ISP) servers.

This is Jimdo Pricing Demystified: It'?s easier than you think.
Following this blogs you may remember that some years ago I posted a detailled entry about the Wix prices. It came to the conclusion that price formation was bewildering. I' m looking at Jimdo's price setup and the different schedules this year. Because of my experience with the Wix system, I have to say - especially in comparison to Wix - that the prices are different (positive).
There are a few things I think you need to know about prices before you sign up for Jimdo. If you want to know more about this site builders site, I suggest you take a look at my Jimdo rating I previously posted. Well, here's what the Jimdo Awards are about.
Notice: In this review I could not show Jimdo rates in US dollars, so this review only shows US dollar rates. When you are living in the USA, you need to go to Jimdo's website to see what these rates are in US dollars. Currently, the schedules with their particular characteristics are as follows:
This free schedule is great if you want to familiarize yourself with the Jimdo gaming world. There are all the essential functions shared by each schedule (see more detail on the essential functions later in this article). However, as with other free designs on other construction site construction sites, this design has certain limitations:
Stay with the pre-defined jimdo.com domains. When you don't like any of these restrictions, go to the Premier Schemes. Premier map structures work just like other site builder structures. This means that jumping to the higher pricing levels involves the functions that the lower pricing has, but with additional advantages (such as more disk space or additional functionality).
Jimdo Pro: It' also the first premier tier advertising scheme that shows no advertising on your website. If you look at the price chart, you may wonder if any of the functions of your search engine are contained in this chart because the chart does not contain any of the functions of your search engine. Schedule cost 6.50 per month* at inception.
Jimdo Business: Businessplan is intended for businessmen and companies. It' the first premier tier backup scheme that offers unrestricted bandwith and disk space. A big distinction between Jimdo and Jimdo Pro is that it comes with an on-line shop. Functions like no charges, different methods of payments (PayPal, Stripe...) or limitless number of items are included.
Schedule cost 15.00/month* at inception. Jimdo Platinum: In addition to the functions of earlier maps that have just been discussed, it also involves an experts check of the website. Or in other words, one of Jimdo's designer will look at your website and give you individual advice on how to improve your brand.
Schedule cost at creation 25.00/month*. Any Jimdo schedule, from Free to Platinum, includes these features: Disk storage and bandwidth: Disk storage from 500MB (free plan) to limitless. Incorporate Google Maps to show your company site on the maps. Jimdo will maintain the certificate for you.
Although the Jimdo's prices are easy to compare with some of its rivals, there are still points to consider: And Jimdo specifically states this on the pricelist: 3 ) To see the overall cost of the parcel e.g. for one year, you need to go to the check out page (after you have selected your plan): 4)
They can also see the amount of value added tax in the overall rate. Those apps or utilities can have their own accounting that you have to take into account (in other words, Jimdo doesn't take into account them for you). Create one website per schedule. Building extra locations means you have to buy extra maps.
Jimdo Extras can be added to your site. Those bundles refer to domainnames and e-mailboxes. Please note, however, that after the first free year you will have to spend 20 Euro per year on your domainname. And Jimdo has categorized these extra schedules into different categories: Base domaines are the most commonly used ones, such as . com, . net, and .org.
There are also some sovereign territories. Either type of package (Category 1 and 2 ) contains more or less uncommon names, and I wouldn't necessarily buy them. Note that prices also vary according to whether you buy the Jimdo or another Jimdo branded registration such as NameCheap.
At Jimdo the purchase of a base top-up domain is 20 EUR per year, while the top-up top-up will be between 50 EUR and 100 EUR per year. Comparing this to the base tier domainname rate, if I wanted to buy an fictional URL, TimosTriathlon.com, it would take that much for NameCheap:
In addition, the annual charge for NameCheap is about 9 Euro (compared to Jimdo's 20 Euro per year). You can see that the cost is lower if you sign it up elsewhere, or if it used to be signed up elsewhere and you didn't transfer your name to Jimdo (you can use your already signed up name on your Jimdo page).
Prices for e-mails are (at the moment of writing) as follows: For example, an e-mail address contains 10 GB of disk space, webmail, and anti-spam/anti-virus software. But no one is preventing you from using Jimdo with third-party e-mail vendors like Google G Suite or Microsoft Office 365. Jimdo's prizes are much simpler than those of its rivals.
If you go to the prices page, for example, you will see most of the important price items at once without having to guesswork what is going on. Whilst the base prices are easy, there will be extra charges based on what kind of packages you select and whether you want to sign up extra domain names or buy e-mail account.
If so, you may also select third-party suppliers that are less costly than what Jimdo has to provide. But, as always, try to keep in minds that these on-line site building tools, like Jimdo, give you everything you need, in one pack, without having to deal with them. Therefore, although it may be more costly than other website building solutions, price is more than justifiable.
