S&P 500 fell 0.1%, the Nasdaq rose 0.2% and the Dow slipped 0.3%. This shallow development took place when the Federal Reserve launched a two-day political session in D.C. and when President Trump arrived before the UN General Assembly in New York. Electricity is now +2.1% for the week, a feat backed by a rise in petroleum prices - despite petroleum declining amid President Trump's UN address.

On Tuesday, Trump criticised OPEC, saying that the fuel meltdown "tears out the Rest of the World" by working with them to restrict supplies and raise fares. The WTI raw future was up as much as 0. 9%, but dropped to their shallow line after the president's comments.

Trump also criticised Iran, which is currently the destination of US industrial punitive measures, terming his regime a "corrupt dictatorship" and saying its leader "is sowing the seeds of mayhem, killing and devastation. "He also addressed North Korea, ISIS and Syria and reaffirmed his government's firm position on FA. Intel, the semi-conductor company (INTC 45. 91, -1. 00), suffered a 2.1% loss in business reports after being demoted from "Market Perform" at Raymond James to "Underperform".

Review of Tuesday's business news, including the September Consumeridence Index, the July FHFA Housing Price Index and the July S&P Case-Shiller Home Price Index: In September, the level of customer trust rose to 138. No. 4 (Briefing. com consensus 131. O ) from the previous month's revision of the 134th session of the Council of Europe.

Most importantly, the high degree of customer trust, fuelled by an increased expectation, provides a good basis for sound consumption, which is the engine of GDP expansion. FHFA Housing Price Index increased by 0.2% in July (Briefing. com consensus up 0.2%) and the June rise was reversed to 0.3% from 0.2%.

Case-Shiller's 20-City Index rose 5.9% in July (Briefing.com consensus +6.2%), and the June rise was reversed to 6.4% from 6.3%. The NASDAQ Adv/Dec 1492/1486. NYSE Adv/Dec 1294/1627. 1573/1417. Both the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 have broken their troughs in the last half an hour, falling 0.2% per share.

NYSE Adv/Dec 1364/1460. Shares are slightly higher this lunchtime and are trying to recover from a slightly lower launch into the workweek. S&P 500 is up 0.1%, while Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq Composite are up 0.2%.

Speaking to the UN General Assembly this morning, Trump reiterated his government's firm position on the issue of equitable trading. Among other issues, the presidency raised several other issues, such as the denuclearisation of North Korea, the Syrian, Iranian and OPEC wars, which he said would "tear down the world" by joining forces to support the price of crude.

Meanwhile, chip manufacturers have fought today, with Intel (INTC 45. 99, -0. 91) loosing 2. 0% after being demoted from "Market Perform" at Raymond James to "Underperform", and after Qualcomm (QCOM 73. 21, -0. 38) had blamed Apple (AAPL 222. 08, +1. 28) for having stolen its business secret and passed it on to Intel.

US Commerce Representative Robert Lighthizer said in Washington this mornings that there is still a considerable gap between the US and Canada in terms of commercial negotiations and that the US is ready to move forward on NAFTA, if necessary without Canada. NYSE Adv/Dec 1419/1359. The S&P 500 has returned its lean gains and is now trading directly on Monday's close, about 0.4% below its September 20 high. Crude gas has fallen from peak levels since President Trump said to the UN General Assembly that OPEC is "tearing down the remainder of the word" by raising it.

The WTI oil future rose by up to 0.9% and reached a high for more than two months, but has now risen by only 0.2% to $72.24/bbl. No significant news was received on Monday, but on Tuesday there will be several news releases, among them the FHFA Housing Price Index for July, the S&P Case-Shiller Home Price Index for July and the Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Index for September.
