You can also click the Text Documents drop-down list in the Save dialog so that the All Files preference changes to All Files. Then you can type your file name without quotation marks.
Example of a PHP template for the file tree, with example coding
This is a proven way to organise your PHP data. One of my friends needed a PHP template with which he could modularise different parts of this website with ease. I mean that he would have a seperate file for the "navigation" and he can simply add this file to his own source where it should appear.
I' m going through the second ("function") attempt, but for this example of a basic website I thought the first ("include") attempt would be better. You can find the sources on GitHub. The following are some hints for different parts of the codes. This is the template for each page:
You will see the very first thing (again on every page) is that I attach a configure file. This is the setup file: This example tells the configurator file which page you are on and puts some tags that will later show this state. Return to the template, you will find that I wrote everything in the HEAD tags in a seperate file.
2) Navigation: PHP has a dynamic extra layer for each hyperlink, so according to the page you are on that hyperlink will be marked (which means it is "active"). It contains codes to show the actual year in a dynamic way (so you don't have to modify it every year!).
My preference is to have my includes file with the filename . php extended. But I know that some folks like to use expansions like . html or . inc (to indicate that it is a "contained" file), but in this way: It is not possible to see the sources if someone went directly to this file on the webmaster.
There are other PHP features you can have in it (e.g. embed another file). You will most likely have deviations from my example coding. Make an extra file named design-bottom.php that has the terminating DIV tag (which was opened in the other file). Or you could put the opening HTML and Studio HTML and Studio ID labels in an included file and close them in a seperate file.
Embedding these extra attachments (or simply dragging these tag into attachments you're already embedding), the source for each attachement would really have only the contents intended for that page.
