Building on the information introduced in Getting Started with the Pipeline, this section should be treated as a reference only. This expression calls one of the functions of the AWS data pipeline. You can find further information under Expression Evaluation. You can manage pipeline templates from the Templates tab on the Management page.

For example, the fundamental instructions and terms that are in effect in the declarative pipeline adhere to the same set of instructions and phrases as Groovy's Syntax, with the following exceptions: You can only use chapters that contain paragraphs, policies, steps, or mapping instructions. Use the Declarative Directive Generator to facilitate the configuration of your Declarative pipeline directive and section.

The pipeline offers a number of these features, such as build-discarder, but they can also be provided by plug-ins, such as time stamps.

Within a step, the step in the option directives is called before the agents are called or if terms are checked. This parameter directive contains a set of parameter that a users should specify when they trigger the pipeline.

In the case of a pipeline that integrates with a GitHub or BitBucket resource, triggering may not be required because Webhooks-based integrations are likely to already exist. Notice that this only works with a multi-branch pipeline. Performs the step when the actual Build is intended for a "Change Request" (alias Pull Request on GitHub and Bitbucket, Fusion Requests on GitLab or Exchange in Gerrit etc.). The phase will run on every commit job if no parameter is specified, e.g. if { changeRequest() }.

If you add a filtering attributes with parameters to the engineering change order, the level can be set so that it is only executed if there are corresponding engineering changes to it. Run the step if the specified Groovy phrase is evaluated as real, for example, if { phrase returns { parameters. Perform the step if the TAG_NAME variables match the specified design.

When an empty design is specified, the step is executed if the TAG_NAME tag is present (as in buildingTag()). Normally, the when clause for a level is analyzed for this level after input of the agents, if one is specified. This can be modified by specifying the beforAgent checkbox in the when group.

" Levels in the declarative pipeline can define a series of interlaced levels within a fork that are run in parallel. Please be aware that a step must have one and only one of increments, levels or concurrent. Interleaved levels cannot themselves contain any other levels in the same way, but otherwise act like any other level, complete with a listing of successive levels within the levels.

Each level that contains multiple step must not contain any agents or utilities, since these are not applicable without them. You can also enforce that your forked levels are all dropped if one of them fail by attaching failFast true to the level containing the forked level. This step is performed first.

" The Declarative Pipelines can use any available procedure that is described in the Pipeline Steps document, which contains a complete set of procedures, with the completion of the procedures below that are available only in the Declarative Pipeline. In most cases, the scriptstep in declarative pipelines should be superfluous, but it can offer a useful escaping hatch: scripts of non-trivial sizes and/or complexities should be shifted to shared libraries instead.
