Praful Bidwai, an experienced reporter, writer, political scientist and opponent of atomic energy, died in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Braful Bidwai was originally from Nagpur, Maharashtra, in 1949. Regularly he wrote for Hindustan Times, Frontline, The Nation (New York), The Guardian (London), Le Monde Diplomatique (Paris) and Il Manifesto (Rome).

Davidwai had authored a number of works, among them "1999 New Nukes: India, Pakistan and Global Nuclear Disarmament", "The Politics of Climate Change and the Global Crisis: His most recent work on the Indian Left should be published later in 2015. He' d worked as a junior executive for the Times of India.

He later became a free-lance contributor and author for Indian and foreign publishing. Mr Bidwai war als Professorial Fellow am Centre for Social Development à New Delhi und als Senior Fellow am Nehru Memorial Museum and Library tätig.
