You may not be able to use the WordPress dashboard. If this is the case, you can perform the update manually via FTP. We use an FTP-Client for this guide. Get the latest release from the FileZilla website. From the WordPress website, please dowload the latest WordPress installer file to your computer. Go to FileZilla or another FTP program of your choosing and find the directory where you stored the WordPress file.
Remove the following directories from your webspace: Go to wp-content and transfer the contents of this directory from your computer to the corresponding directory on your webspace. It overwrites the available file, but keeps all other file and directory locations. Hint: The file wp-content contains your plug-in and theme, so be careful not to remove any file or file that already exists!
