Keep your website up to date

Topics, plug-ins and WordPress need to be refreshed from now on. Usually updates occur when a developer releases or adds additional features to safety patches. Often, updates are not available when the developer is not using the patch. It is a good way to update your theme, plugin and WordPress releases. To ensure better safety and optimize the update process, WordPress updates itself if it is able to do so every single launch of a minority revision (e.g. v4.8.2, v4.9.1).

As a rule, these smaller versions are used for maintaining and securing or updating translations. WordPress kernel only will be refreshed for you. We do not update your designs or plug-ins for you. If, for one or the other of these reasons, your WordPress install cannot update itself without your permission, your site admin will also be informed.

In order to update your WordPress copy or update your designs and plug-ins either do so manually by moving the mouse pointer over the Dashboard item in the top right corner of the main window and click the Updates button in the flyout area. You can also click the Dashboard item on the menus, and then click the Updates below the Dashboard button. There are three parts to the Updates page.

When your WordPress release needs to be updated, it appears at the top of the page. Underneath you will be informed about all plug-in upgrades and below about topic upgrades. Upgrading your WordPress is as easy as pressing the Update Now buttons. WorldPress downloads the necessary documents, checks them and then refreshes your website for you.

It is always advisable to back up before you update your website, just in case something unhappy happens during or after the install. When there are any plug-ins that can be upgraded, they are enumerated in the Plug-ins section of the page. In order to update your plug-ins, check the box next to each of the plug-ins you want to update, and then click the Update Plug-ins buttons.

New plug-in downloads are download and install automatic. When there are topics that can be refreshed, they are displayed in the Topics section of the page. In order to update your designs, check the box next to each of the designs you want to update, and then click the Update Designs buttons.

New topic downloads are download and install automatic. Once your website has been upgraded, whether it was created auto-, manual-, or just with topics and plug-ins, it's a good idea to give your website a short test to make sure it works as you expect it to. As a result, it is ensured that the new designs, plug-ins or even WordPress itself has not added any new features that would be detrimental to your website or change the way your website works.
