Drag-and-drop page layouts & content editor WordPress plugin
The Velocity Page is a new WordPress plug-in that allows you to create page layout and manipulate the contents of these pages from the front end of your WordPress page. Removing the administrator Dashboard and the standard WordPress page editing tool from the formula, designers have set themselves the goal of making page layout creation and the input of text and other items a more user-friendly and engaging way to work.
This article will take a look at some of the functions of this plug-in, see what it can do, and get an impression of how simple it is to create user-defined page layout with WordPress. Once you have installed the Velocity Page plug-in and entered the licence code to get the latest version and get your hands on your product, you can start using this front-end page builder utility.
The Velocity Page works with WordPress pages, so just make a new page or open an already created page for processing and then activate the plug-in in the radio button on the page browser monitor. In case you have asked yourself, this plug-in cannot be used for WordPress post.
As you can see in the screenshots, any available contents on the page will also be ignored or faded out if Velocity Page is on. Optionally, you can use the latest design of your website or select one of the template plugins. When you use the latest design of your website, all the style and page layouts of that design will be used for the page and its contents.
Selecting one of the Velocity Page laysouts gives you full-width full control over a fully customizable page format. As soon as Velocity Page has been activated for a page, the contents of this page can only be processed via the front end of your website with Velocity Page.
If you view the page from the front end, registered user will see an "Edit" icon in the upper right of the page that activates edit control when you click on it. As with other page creation utilities for WordPress, layout is built on the system of horizontally arranged lines and vertically arranged lines. Each page that is able to have several lines, each with several colums.
Note that the Notepad provides a fast way to see the available choices for creating a new record in your line before you make a choice. Once you have added a line with more than one additional cell, you can append an element to the contents areas or cell of this "table".
Velocity Page provides, among other things, the elements that can be added to your page: Each of these elements, as well as anything else you might want to append to a line or columns in your page design, can easily be dragged and dropped across the page, all from the front end.
You can also move the lines and column, which makes it very simple to customize your layout while creating your page. Text processing is also done in accordance with Velocity Page via the front end. That' s great because in some instances you or the other people involved in your site no longer have to modify the pages from the WordPress administration area and use the back-end page editors.
Typing or manipulating text is so easy that you click on a layouts cells and then start typing. Text can also be reformatted by selecting it and using the text edit pop-up window. When you want to append an image to your page, it's just a case of appending the picture element to a new cubicle and then selecting an image to view.
It seems there is no way to add an picture to a text like you would with the normal WordPress page editors. All elements added to the page can be added and placed in the cells they are in, shifted or drawn into a new cells in another line or colum.
You can also change other element properties, such as their orientation in the cells or the use of a hyperlink, dependent on the element name. Velocity Page's price options, which I tested, currently include four page landing template. Our price schedule offers you easy use of the template of the Premier Velocity Page.
As soon as you have applied one of the template files to your page and then open it via the front end for Velocity Page edit, you can see and make changes to the page and add your own contents. All four template I had full width and full width permissions and took up the entire width of the webpage.
Thus these models are ideally suited for the creation of landings and home pages. As soon as one of the masks has been added to a page, you can start working on the contents, similar to using a mask. With the Velocity Page plug-in you can generate and process these pages in WordPress via the front-end display and not via the page editors in the WordPress back-end administration area.
Each of the contents already present on a page will no longer be available once you activate Velocity Page for that page. In addition, there is no available contents added to a page with Velocity Page if you deactivate the utility for that page. Whilst you can append and modify text on the front end of your website, the in-line text editor does not give you full WordPress Page Editing capabilities, but you can paste the user-defined HTML element and then type and reformat the text as you would if you were using Text Viewer in the standard WordPress Page Editors.
I hope you now have a good notion of what you can do with Velocity Page and see how simple it is to build a new page design in WordPress, all over the front end, with a simple line edit line pull.
