Web home page Template

Home page web template

Homepage is important, but homepage is by nature unique and has a unique role to play. In-house page template Begin your template work always with an inner page, because the inner page template dominates the website. Homepage is important, but homepage is by nature one of a kind and has a special meaning to it. As your page template is used several hundred or even thousand pages on major websites, the navigational, graphical and graphical features of your pages reflect the users' experiences on your site.

Retrieve your in-house page layout and your navigational system correctly, and then deduce your homepage and page layouts from the in-house page template (Fig. 6.8). Sequence 8 - A logic sequence for interior, menus and home page layouts. In-house page layouts must fulfill these important functions: For large Web pages that contain a large amount of contents, your page template can be a collection of pages that differ in detail, such as the number of column numbers, to match the amount of contents and requirements of the UI (Fig. 6.9).

In the case of large websites, the "template" is usually not a separate page and usually includes several variants to cover the full bandwidth of needed contents and application. Web pages that integrate web apps, blogs, wikis, or advanced form features may require a streamlined template variant that removes some of the site's common navigational features.

10- Always attach a reduced copy of the template (left) for large graphs, large spreadsheets, or advanced web use. The majority of websites are organised in a multi-level structure, with verticals (home page, side pages, intern pages) and a horizontally distributed set of different areas of contents, making it easier for the user to find them visually and organisationally.

Secundary page styles should be tightly linked to the inner page style, but must include these extra features: Secundary page styles help to give a tangible feel for the verticals of websites and can execute various features in the layers between the home page and the inner pages. This sub-menu pages are practically the home page for this contents area.

A lot of web -based advertising or communication initiatives demand a focussed, instantly recognisable page to attract people. The alternative points of access must have a clear graphical and thematic relationship to the marketers' images, the products presented or the communication themes, but since they also act as alternative homepages, they should also direct the visitor towards the wider site map (Fig. 6.11).

If you show "exhibitions" in your advertisements, you are sending people to a specific sub-menu page that fits your ad campaigns. Major business or company locations demand second or even third level pages that serve as home pages for the respective division or programme. Your template system should build a clear hierarchical structure of page headers and title in a multi-level website so that the reader can see the relationship between a departmental page and the bigger company (Fig. 6.12).

The departmental location template should reflect the departmental hierarchy in a meticulously designed set of interconnected template elements. Building an efficient homepage can seem discouraging, but if you have already thought through the basics of page navigating and done the tough work of building page layouts both internally and secondarily, you have a big edge.

When you last create the homepage look, you can recognize the homepage's singular initial function, but place the look tightly in the wider navigation window and graphical website contexts. Homepages have four main elements: A good homepage is always a combination of these four things. The way you mix them will depend on the overall objectives of your site, but most good homepages don't equal all four of them.

Homepages often have an unmistakable topic in which one dominant element is a certain one. The Amazon homepage is all about navigating to Amazon related items. The Yale University homepage shows a projection of our identities. The famous slim homepage of Google is all about utilities. It is not possible for an efficient homepage to be everything for all of you. Determine your own prioritisation and create a homepage that gives the visitor a clear feel for the topic and prioritisation (Fig. 6.13).

Thirteen - Four homepage variants for very different institutes and uses. Homepage layouts should always mirror a specific layout style, dependent on the type and commercial purpose of the website. But not all websites have such a unique focus. The Dartmouth College homepage, for example, conveys both your own personal image and a vibrant feeling for what it is like to live on your own campsite.

Navigational features and utilities are not ignored, but nevertheless have a subordinate importance for the overall page impression (Fig. 6.14). Dartmouth's home decor provides a good equilibrium between identities, topicality, navigational and cultural identities. There are too many pages projecting a powerful corporate logo with lots of logo and graphics and then explaining themselves to the new users completely wrong.

Except if you own one of the hundred best brand names in the worlds, always put a short descriptive commentary or slogan, prominent on the home page, so that your visitors immediately comprehend what you are doing and what you have to give them. People looking for contents, service or goods could not be less concerned with your department's vision, so put it on your "About Us" page and not on the home page.

Kiva's concise message at the top of the homepage is indispensable for a lesser-known franchise and a novel type of customer experience (Fig. 6.15). Kiva's website is not intended for newcomers, and the headers day ("Credits that make a difference") becomes a keynote.

About 65-75 sq. in. at the top of a home page form the most highly exposed part of the site. The majority of people will view your website on 19-22-inch displays or notebook displays, and the top 6 or 7 inch vertically are everything that is safely seen on ordinary displays, especially on the shorter, wider displays of most notebooks.

On websites that are conceived for effective browsing, the maximum link densities at the top of the home page should be readable. 16-page layouts of two highly frequented, highly sophisticated newsgroups. Seventeen - The homepage of Denver Zoo provides a variety of home page layout choices on the first one.

If there are many contents or product catagories that match the home page, there is a tendency to use drop-down menu to pack many selections into a small area of the onscreen. Meticulous navigational styling can lead to an efficient hybrids approach where you don't just trust drop-down lists, but rather deliver them as advanced features to those who decide to discover them (Fig. 6.18).

Opera uses classical header-based globale nav, combined with lower -level headers when you scroll over each one. Even though a standards-based html/css drop-down list will be somewhat available and viewable by searching machines, the default user interface features that Mac and Windows end user expects are not reproducible with web utilities alone.

Elderly and less hand-eye-coordinated people typically loathe Web drop-down lists because they are often deployed with small fonts and small cursors in small targets. Do not use drop-down lists based solely on JavaScript because they may not be available to keypad people. Also keep in mind that web browsers do not run JavaScript on the pages they have scanned, which is a big drawback because navigational elements are perfect catchwords and associated catchwords rank highly in them.

Usually, the user comes to a homepage with special interests or aims. Therefore, most homepages have well-known navigational listings or visible menu items on subjects, as well as information on our goods and solutions. However, sometimes the user identifies their interests by their own identities or roles. Thus, for example, it is usual for universities to divide "paths" on the home page into interested parties, undergraduates, teachers, and other groups and then present various sub-menu pages that are geared to the interests and needs of each group (Fig. 6.19).

" To the overwhelming overwhelming number of users, graphical or motion graphics make additional clicks on the screen a nuisance on the way to genuine contents. Spash pages are not usefully available in any way, and if they rely on JavaScript, ActionScript, or other scripts to get the visitor to the true home page, most web browser spenders will never get past your spash page, thus efficiently keeping your most visited page from adding to your ranking.

Never use a compliant, functionless split page as a "feast for the eyes" at the entry to your website.
