The process consists of a series of steps that build on each other, reduce risk, and take a structured approach to the final website. Every website follows a clear web design process.

At the end you will have the opportunity to create a website that is strategic in attracting, retaining and converting people. We often think of the web as a designer in the form of wireless frames, web based calendars, web based applications, web based applications, web based applications, web based content management systems and code. However, experienced web design professionals know that the key to a successful web design is not just coding, integrating your site into your existing web environment, integrating your existing web site into your existing web environment, or creating your own visuals.

The design of a successful website demands a well thought-out on-line approach that focuses on achieving business objectives - that can be anything from getting your customers to buy your product to getting the general audience to see a theme and introduce them to a new make. If you are a designee or developer, you can become one of the most valued and powerful members of the web community if you know how to create an on-line strategic website.

While there are many individuals who can type codes and have views about the design and shades of the site, few have the variety of talents and resources needed to build a site that will help an organisation reach its objectives. In this course you will learn the basic skills you need to manage a Web design success story.

Instead of concentrating on HTML, CSS oder coding, we concentrate on the most important strategy, contents and design features that are used in the creation of a website. Web design process is no different than other communications process. Stages of the web design process comprise the following stages. The identification of the reason for the website's existance and what it is meant to accomplish is the first stage in this process.

Targets and specifications defined at the beginning of the development process are incorporated into all subsequent decision-making, from the website layout to the nomenclature used for navigating to the website's design. As a first stage in the process, the company's stakeholder groups are interviewed to determine the site's strategy, the needs of the main target groups, and the main competition.

It is the aim of the defining stage to pinpoint three quantifiable results that are directly related to the company's strategy objectives. At this stage, the challenges are to limit the number of objectives. The majority of companies will have more objectives than they know what to do with them, and each division thinks that the objectives of its units are the most important.

The ability to direct your attention to business objectives will facilitate the development of the website and make the end result more efficient. As soon as all information and evaluations from the stakeholders' interview have been concluded, they should be compiled in a well-formatted letter. Instructions for Lesson 4 contain a short description of the projects you can work on.

This letter contains the following items. Abstract: Provides a general outline of the overall picture of the company, its organisational context, the context in which it operates, the individuals it is serving and the value it offers to its audiences. Targets: Two or three concrete quantifiable objectives that the site should meet.

With clear objectives, the Web crew can concentrate on what has the most effect and drives the business forward. How can the company help to reach its objectives? Target group profiling includes demography, psychography, consumer perception, target group needs, on-line objectives and routine work. Which are the core message that attracts the core public and motivates them to get to grips with the company?

Which are the most important brands that help distinguish the company from its competitors? Add an outline of competitor websites, including compelling content such as corporate identity, message boards, navigational tools, prompts, and important differentiation features. The definition of the extent of the project will be a crucial part. The most frustrating part of web development is the creation of scopes.

You can clearly define your customer expectation by establishing a clearly delineated scoping sheet that defines your customer's activity, results and schedule. Using the gantt diagram as a graphical benchmark for the entire group, it shows the time frame of each stage and the interdependencies between stages. Weframes offer a detail display of the contents displayed on each page.

Though they do not show design features, the wireless frames offer a way to define the page's contents tree. As soon as the design for the website has been established by creating the site map and wireless frames, the next stage is to build a visually appealing look. Most likely, the entire corporate design will be driven by the company's corporate identity; the aim is to link the web to all other corporate communication channels.

A company logo is an important part of this part of the process, as the designer wants to communicate important typical design concepts within the design. Once the design is authorized, it's up to you to make the page design more concrete, add new and refined contents, make video, slide shows, podcasts and other items that will appear on the site, and begin building HTML and CSS for the site.

Website debugging is crucial as there will invariably be problems that need to be resolved before the website goes online. There' s nothing that undermines a trademark more than a website that doesn't work right, has misspelled words or defective design features. Once you have tried and validated the website, checked and accepted it by those involved in the projects, you are set to go.

However, once the website is up and running, the process is not yet complete - you should be ready to receive user input as they adapt to the new website. Web sites are alive, respiring beings and require continuous attention and service. Updates of contents, changes to the back end and the removal of defective hyperlinks are part of our daily work.

Each of these stages is crucial to the web design process. However, the common theme that guides the process is strategy: the wish to reach a target, to move the company forward, to be successful in a highly-competitive environment.
