Post Slug in WordPress - What is it?
Mail Slug is the user-friendly and URL-valid name of a mail. One of the most frequent uses of this function is to generate a permission link for each posting. The WordPress application creates automatic postslugs from the header of a posting. It is not used in the URI, however, until customized permission links are selected to use %postname% in the URI tree.
You can activate permanent links via the " Permanent links preferences. As soon as this is done, the slug replaces the wildcard "%postname%" in the user-defined permission link tree. As soon as the permission links are activated, the mail UL L appears under the mail heading in the mail edit window, as here: You can also change your posting slug on the posting page by pressing the Quick Edit icon below a posting.
The fast edit opens under the article heading, where a member can edit the mail slug. A postlog can be especially useful if the mail heading is really long or often changes. As soon as it is definied and the article is released, the postal slug should not be modified anymore.
When it is modified, the same contents will be posted on several pages and all of your older page references will be interrupted because the permission link to your contribution is now different.
Is a WordPress Slug what?

Normally the authors slug for the archives page of an authors is his name. Unfortunately, you cannot modify the WordPress login name after it has been generated. However, what you can do is use a free plug-in to modify the WordPress writer. As soon as you have activated the plug-in, you will see a new Edit Autor Slug field on a user's home page where you can modify the author's archives.
An area to be cautious about is modifying the slug for contents after you have generated it. Every time you modify the sphere for an item of information, someone who tries to access that information by using the initial sphere to visit the location may have difficulty retrieving your information.
WordPress tries to divert the user to the new slug for articles and pages. You can also use a free WordPress plug-in such as Redirection or Safe Recirect Manager.
